| You are invited to join us at a 4-day in-person Summer Mindfulness Retreat with the theme “The Journey Within, Walking in the Footsteps of the Buddha"
from Thursday evening July 27 to Sunday afternoon July 30 at Sinh Thuc
Meditation Center in Wardensville, WV. A Mindfulness retreat for
adults and young adults to learn, practice and discuss important topics
on the Spiritual Journey Within for a lay person with relationship,
school-work-career and family life. Once we understand the
principal of the Wisdom teaching, the spiritual journey will simply
become part of everyday life as there are no separation between what we
typically think the real studying-working-family life and the wish to
have spiritual life. |

 |
During
this 4-day in-person retreat, we will present the following topics in
clear and easy to understand terms. No previous meditation
experience and Buddhism understanding are required:
- Teaching
on the Eighteen Elements (18 Giới, Dhātu). The Foundation
teaching on life experience process and Buddhist psychology.
- Insight on Suffering (Khổ đau, Dukkha) and three types of suffering in everyday life.
- Awareness (Tri kiến, Sampajañña), the basic of life experience and the four types of awareness.
- Twelve
Links of Dependent Origination (Thập Nhị Nhân Duyên,
Paṭiccasamuppāda). The Closely connected conditions of the
natural human experience process and the tendency of attachment
creating difficulty.
- Practical Four
Foundation of Mindfulness (Thực tiển Tứ niệm xứ, Satipatthana).
The Four foundation of mindfulness will be presented in the practical
daily living terms and not in the typical technical meditative ways
that are often not easily adapted to everyday life.
The
retreat is structured with a balance of awareness meditation, teaching
talk, storytelling, wellness taichi & chi-kung exercises,
discussion, Q&A and private time in a warm and supportive
environment. |

The Retreat is offered free of charge based on the 2,600 years old Buddhist tradition. Registration is required.
