Ingredients

  1. 3 pieces of Tofu (Firm)
  2. ½ cup of all purpose flour
  3. 1 tablespoon of green onions (2 stalks) cut into small slices
  4. 1 egg (beaten)
  5. 1 tablespoon of ginger finely cut
  6. ¼ teaspoon mixed in ½ cup of vegetable soup (or you can stir 1 vegetable bouillon cube in ½ cup of water)
  7. 1 teaspoon of sesame oil
  8. Vegetable or Corn Oil
     

Preparation and Cooking

      Slice tofu into ½ inch-thick pieces and pad them dry.  Roll the dried tofu in flour (#2) to cover them thinly.  Dip the floured tofu into a bowl of beaten egg (#4). Heat up a frying pan, then pour about 2 tablespoon of cooking oil (#8) into the hot pan. Place the pieces of tofu (floured and egg-dipped) into the frying pan, fry until golden, turn them over to cook both sides.  Stir ingredients in #6 and #7 and pour into the frying pan with the tofu, cook at low to medium heat, use a fork to punch the tofu to let the soup soak into them. Cook until the soup is almost gone, dish the tofu out to a plate.  Sprinkle green onions (#3) and ginger (#5) on the top of the tofu.  If you would like, you can sprinkle a teaspoon of cooking wine.
